Paid election-predictor Karl Rove has had just about enough of people trying to predict elections.
During an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday, Rove discussed the ongoing papal conclave with “Happening Now” host Rick Folbaum, commenting that the American media could learn a thing or two from the Vatican about waiting until all the votes are tabulated before putting up the smoke signal.
Apparently, Rove is still upset about that one time back in November of 2012 when Fox News prematurely called the election in Barack Obama’s favor, which turned out to be wrong, and then they had to apologize to President Romney for ever doubting him (awk-ward).
They do it the right way. They get to the final vote and the decision and then they let the smoke get it.
Maybe there’s a message there for American media. Maybe we better wait, rather than try to call it, let the election go to its final conclusion and let the results speak for themselves.
If I’m following Karl’s logic correctly, come future elections, he should probably just shut up and wait for the results to “speak for themselves.”
