Fraternity Fundraises for Trans Bro’s Surgery

When even fraternity bros are promoting LGBT equality, it's time to admit you've lost the argument.

It’s not often that a fraternity makes you go “awwwwwwww.” Unless maybe that’s the sound you make when you’re vomiting up Keystone Light or something. But this story from Phi Alpha Tau at Emerson College in Boston is the sweetest bit of fraternity-related kindness since that amazing Westboro counter-protest a while back.

Male-identified Emerson University student Donnie Collins recently discovered his insurance plan wouldn’t cover female-to-male transitional surgery, and now his prospective fraternity brothers have rushed to his aide via an Indigogo campaign. The video PAT made to support their bro is just as adorably incongruous as you might expect, as they end their pitch for trans acceptance with a v-sign and the bro sign-off, “Peace. Much love.

Look, homophobes and transphobes, I get that you want to keep fighting on this stuff. But when you’ve lost the bros, you’re done. You’ve already lost Newt Gingrich and Dick Cheney. You have no key demographic left.
