Won't somebody please think of the children???

Maryland delegate Don H. Dwyer, Jr. has admitted that he was drinking with another man on his boat on the Magothy River when his boat struck a smaller vessel with five children on board. Dwyer’s blood alcohol level was 0.2 – twice the legal limit.

The incident comes as a surprise given Dwyer’s history as a champion for the safety of children. Dwyer, a Tea Party Republican, has previously suggested that homosexuals were a threat to children and that same-sex marriage would lead to homosexuality being taught in schools. Specifically, Dwyer has expressed fear that gay activists want to introduce sadomasochism to schoolchildren.

Four of the children were injured with one, a five year old girl, being airlifted to Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Thankfully, doctors report that none of the children have expressed any interest in having Cher visit them in the hospital, though.

While Dwyer has been a vocal opponent of gay marriage and all of the Sponge Bob gag balls that will inevitably be handed out in schools as a result of such blasphemy, he has been responsible for introducing some more reasonable legislation to Maryland’s Congress. For instance, earlier this year Dwyer supported a ballot measure to strip lawmakers of their office when found guilty of serious crimes. You know, things like drunkenly crashing your boat into a bunch of kids.

So who exactly was this other man. Most homophobes are in denial or closeted. Just curious

That detail sparked my interest as well, particularly considering his weird concern about gays bringing BDSM to schoolchildren. That just seems like a very…specific…concern.

Were the two guys wearing speedos? Unless you're in Europe, that's very suspicious.

As I age I continue to learn and observe that one must be very careful about the people one hates. Things in life just happen and we find ourselves embarassed by the hatred we try to spread. I'm sure Mr Dwyer is very remorseful…I can only hope the remorse will spread to the hatred he feels for some normal, usually not hating folks.

they say most accidents are caused by the driver checking out an attractive person.. alcohol affects your vision, and on a moving boat it might be hard to keep concentrated on anyone except your boat passengers

and the only person on the boat was his man-friend

obviously, there is only one conclusion we can make here…
