Atlanta couple Marci Alt and her wife of eight years, Marlyssa, have formally invited Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy to their home for dinner. Chick-fil-A, the fast food chain with demonstrably poor spelling and critical thinking skills, has come under fire recently for its anti-gay stance.
The super cute family has teamed up with GLAAD to launch a petition (you can sign it here) urging Cathy to accept the invitation to witness first-hand their presumably depraved and un-Christian-like eating ritual, which may or may not involve praying to Jimmy Carter and farting on Jesus’s head:
Mr. Cathy has his opinion, but he should hear from us and from fellow Christians who disagree – and he should know how his donations are hurting families here in Georgia.
I’m inviting Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy and his family to join my family for dinner — at his place or ours — to see that we’re just like any other American family. We care deeply about our faith, our family, our friends and our community, and think there’s room to turn this debate into a dialogue.

I like how it looks like the baby is pointing directly at Dan Cathy — "YOU!! Yeah, you, homophobe. We want you to come to dinner."

"…to witness first-hand their presumably depraved and un-Christian-like eating ritual, which may or may not involve praying to Jimmy Carter and farting on Jesus’s head"
And booing Tim Tebow. And making "Yo mama" jokes about the Virgin Mary.

Wow. How nicely biased. I myself am a lesbian, and proud of it. But, i don't feel that anyone is doing our cause any justice by printing a hate ladened response to a person's personal beliefs. I'm gay, who the fuck cares. I don't really need any ones approval. I'm quite happy, even though Chik-Fil-A doesn't approve of my lifestyle. I can honestly say I don't give two rat shits who they donate too, or who's charities they support. I support myself, I don't need anyone's pity, charity, or assistance. I'm quite happy with my civil union, I don't give a damn if it's not called a marriage. Get off the soap box and preach what really matters! Love thy neighbor… If your spewing hate, that is what you will get in return.
Think before you speak on my behalf please.

That's great for you that you don't care if people are homophobic, but I do. I never pretended to speak for you. I only speak for myself. Personally, i think it's a terrific gesture that this family is making. You don't have to agree.

Sorry Hero – but you may not be fully aware of the subject at hand: CFA donates scads of money – over $2 million last year alone – to a variety of anti-homosexual groups. The least outrageous of these groups have as their mission the elimination of homosexual rights through legislation – some go as far as to insist on imprisonment or deportation of homosexuals. CFA directly administers numerous camps where young people who are exposed as being gay are sent by their parents and forced to "pray the gay away." I'm not a homosexual myself (straight but not narrow, thank you very much) and I'm appalled at this corporation's behavior. Unlike most people though, I've known about it for years. You may think that it's "all good" between you and Chik-Fil-A, but I assure you: It isn't and they are doing everything they can to ensure that "your kind" cease to exist.

How is this response hate-laden? They are responding to his hateful message with a civil dinner invitation. How is that not a sincere effort to show him the folly of his agenda?
I'm glad you have learned to live with the adversity you have faced, but I'm not sure why you would advocate that everyone else must also face that adversity rather than discuss better solutions to the issues at hand. In the world we live in, where money makes the big decisions, surely you can see that if the anti-gay agenda takes hold (as well-funded interests have been known to do) this would effect your lifestyle as well.

Okay thank you, exactly. I was starting to think I was crazy. This just seems like the nicest way to let people understand how normal and non-threatening the LGBT family is.

When I read "non-threatening LGBT", I at first tried to imagine a threatening LGBT and could only come up with that picture above, but the baby holding an UZI.

I'll go ahead and speak – and vote – for all my gay friends that would like to be legally married. You may be comfortable in your position, but thousands of others just aren't. Don't assume to speak to for them, either.

Excellent, Hero Deep ! I like your style. People are absolutely entitled to their own opinions, lifestyles, and choices of issues they support. Mr. Chick-a-fil hasn’t discriminated against anyone.
It’s amazing to see how the rabid ‘PC crowd’ is so fucking eager to lynch somebody for having their own personal opinion.
Thanks for your post.

Pray tell how is not supporting gay marriage "anti-gay"????
The LGT society first asked for "tolerance" and "acceptance". Now they DEMAND government and public approval???
If a company owner states that she doesn't support parole for rapists does that make her "antirapist"??
A private citizen spoke his mind as is his right.
I support equal rights for gays and lesbians. Why is this a big issue???

I love how Cathy is getting bombarded by the liberal media for voicing his opinion which is supported by his first amendment right.
Get over it.
Typical liberal bullshit. "I support your right for free speech as long as you agree with me"

You mad bro? Shouldn’t you be crying to Nabisco about the rainbow Ore ad, like a good conservative? Or are you too busy making tinfoil hats to protect you from the evil “liberal media”?

There’s something you should know about these “liberal media” boogie men that seem to be hiding around every corner in your delusional little world: They, too, have the right to free speech.
Also, nobody against gay marriage has ever been able to explain how allowing same sex marriage denies them any rights whatsoever. It may have something to do with the fact that it doesn’t, and the “not anti-gay, but pro traditional marriage” line completely ignores the fact that the existence of same sex marriage in no way prevents you from having a traditional marriage if you so choose.

Exactly. No one is saying Dan Cathy isn’t allowed to have an opinion, BUT WE’RE ALLOWED TO HAVE AN OPINION, TOO. It’s his 1st Amendment right to be an idiot, and it’s our 1st amendment right not to eat his sandwiches.
